Weather Graphic Shows Unfortunately-Shaped Rain System

A rather unfortunately shaped weather system was passing over the town of Essex, in England this weekend, and a graphic showing the rain band on its path looked alarmingly like a penis. While BBC Essex posted the image to their Twitter account on Friday, August 28 likely to warn residents that heavy rain was on the way, it was something entirely different that got their attention.

  1. It even included the balls! This rain band didn’t just look like a gentleman’s anatomy, it even included the testicles! More than that, as many users hilariously noted, there seemed to be a large cloud patch coming out of the tip, making it even lewder. You certainly don’t get weather like this every day!
  2. People really got a kick out of this. While most posts on BBC Essex’s Twitter page get a scant few likes, comments, and retweets, this one unsurprisingly went viral! At the time of writing, it had about 110,000 likes, 38,000 retweets, and almost 5,000 comments. How’s that for a successful social media post?
  3. This is one comment section you’ll actually want to read. The puns are plentiful and they are hilarious and well worth the read. “Essex is seriously getting it tonight,” responded one user, while another added, “Accompanied by a stiff breeze.” A third person was trying desperately to place their neighborhood on the map, writing, “As a resident of Southend on sea I think I’m somewhere between the shaft & the ballsack.”
  4. It’s 2020 – I think we can use all the laughs we can get. Given how spectacularly terrible this year has been, I think we will take all the ridiculous, immature humor we can possibly get our hands on. You have to give BBC Essex kudos as well for not removing this post once it was pointed out (though I find it hard to believe no one noticed it before posting). It’s made my week, that’s for sure! Here’s hoping the weather in Essex picks up!
