White Claw’s New Hard Seltzer Surge Has 60% More Alcohol Than The Original Cans White Claw

White Claw is basically God-tier when it comes to hard seltzer. They were basically the first to do it – or at least the first to become Instagram-worthy for doing it – and they’ve been dominating the game ever since. And while their drinks have always been bomb as-is, there’s now White Claw Hard Seltzer Surge with 60% more alcohol than the original offerings and frankly, I’m not mad about it.

  1. Who would say no to more alcohol? While chances are you’re not drinking hard seltzer to get drunk but rather as a social drink on hot summer days, it’s not like putting a little more booze in them is a bad thing, right? White Claw Hard Seltzer Surge is upping the ante from 5% ABV to 8% ABV, which is a notable leap but not one that’s going to get you twisted too quickly.
  2. So far, there are only two flavors in the range. White Claw is starting small with this one, offering Hard Seltzer Surge only in Blood Orange and Cranberry flavors to start. Admittedly, that’s a bit of a limited repertoire, but given that this is a very new range and the brand wants to test out the consumer response, that’s understandable. Hopefully more flavors will be added in the near future! In the meantime, both of the ones that are out are pretty delicious!
  3. They’re available in 16 oz. cans. At the moment, the only way to try White Claw Hard Seltzer Surge for yourself is in 16 oz. cans. That works fine – you wouldn’t want any less than that and if you want more, you can always crack open another can, so that’s pretty ideal. Better yet, there are only 2 grams of sugar in every can, so if you’re trying to cut back, you can feel good about drinking this.
  4. If for some reason this isn’t your thing, White Claw has other new offerings. In addition to Hard Seltzer Surge, they’re also dropping their Flavor Collection No. 3 including the previously released Mango as well as Strawberry, Pineapple, and Blackberry. Those cans are 12 oz. each and have only 5% ABV, but they’ll no doubt be super tasty!
