‘Wide Neck Guy’ Goes Viral After Yet Another Criminal Arrest Escambia County Sheriff's Office

Charles Dion McDowell, more popularly known as “Wide Neck Guy,” has gone viral after being arrested yet again. This time around, he was charged with stalking after he allegedly sent a woman threatening messages and showed up at her house unannounced and uninvited. According to the New York Post, a warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2022. However, the police only caught up with him this week. Wide Neck Guy is also in hot water for allegedly withholding child support.

Escambia County Sheriff's Office

  1. His first arrest came back in 2018 when he was taken into custody for drug offenses in northern Florida. He was charged at the time with possession of cocaine and meth as well as intention to manufacture, sell, or deliver the drugs. When his mugshot appeared online, people were instantly shocked at the size of his neck. No wonder they call him Wide Neck Guy!
  2. He was arrested again later the same year. This time, it was for something completely different. He was charged with driving without a license, reckless driving, second-degree marijuana possession, and evading police. That mugshot was just as memorable as the first, and Charles Dion McDowell became popular yet again. Wide Neck Guy got his bail revoked this time around, and he had to spend some time behind bars.
  3. After his second arrest, he said he’d changed. He took to Instagram after his release from jail to announce that he was leaving crime behind once and for all. “I ain’t ever going back to that life,” he wrote. “I faced all my problems. I no longer have nightmares. I’m really living my future.” Apparently not!
  4. He’s currently being held without bond. Given his tendency of trying to evade police, it’s no wonder they weren’t willing to set him loose again. He’ll go before a judge in the coming days, but no date has been publicly announced.
