Woman Arrested For Arranging To Have Her Husband Killed On Installment Plan Of $100 A Week For 40 Weeks

A Pennsylvania woman has been arrested and charged with criminal solicitation to commit homicide after she allegedly agreed to a 40-week payment plan of $100 per week to have her husband murdered. Claudia Carrion, 44, thought she was hiring a seasoned hitman when she made the arrangements, but as it turned out, it was actually an undercover detective. Now, she could be facing many years in prison if convicted.

  1. Carrion thought she had good reason to get her husband killed. According to a lengthy statement she gave to the purported hitman, Carrion believed her husband was abusive towards herself and her children. She also claimed that he had been cheating on her with several other women, and after deciding to end his life, she “described in detail why she wanted her husband killed” before giving the detective a $100 deposit, WFMZ reports.
  2. She agreed to pay $4,000 over a period of 40 weeks. According to authorities, Carrion believed $4,000 for killing her husband was a fair asking price but she told the hitman during their meet-up that she couldn’t afford it at the moment. Instead, she negotiated a payment plan of $100 per week over 40 weeks. She paid her initial deposit in $20 bills.
  3. This wasn’t Carrion’s first attempt. She allegedly admitted to police following her arrest that she’d tried to hire a hitman previously but that the first attempt “did not work out,” court documents revealed. It’s possible that this first attempt is what led to an informant for the Allentown Police Department’s Vice Squad contacting officers about the plans for which she was eventually arrested.
  4. Carrion was arraigned and is being held on $500,000 bail. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 8, where Lehigh County Magisterial District Judge David M. Howells Jr. will preside over her case. It’s unclear whether or not her abuse allegations will be investigated or play any part in the case.
  5. Carrion’s son believes his mother is being “framed.” Joshua Carrion said that his mom is crazy about his dad, so much so that she brought him to the US from his native Dominican Republic. “It’s not like that. I feel like she’s getting framed. She’s, she’s Christian, you know, like, very religious,” he said. “My family — my family — we never do harm. We’re all, you know, innocent. We don’t have no criminal records of nothing.” He also dismissed any claims of abuse.
