Woman Arrested For Possession Of Enough Fentanyl ‘To Kill One Million People’ Durham County Sheriff's Office

A 24-year-old woman whose car was searched was arrested after she was discovered to be in possession of a large amount of synthetic opioid fentanyl. Karen Garcia Euceda from Durham, North Carolina, was carrying two kilograms of the drug in the vehicle with herself and her 4-year-old daughter. The drugs, described by the DEA as being “‘similar to morphine but about 100 times more potent,” were enough to kill a million people.

  1. Fentanyl is an incredibly dangerous drug. The DEA reveals that 1 kilogram of the drug is enough to kill 500,000 people – that’s how powerful it is. It’s been responsible for the deaths of several celebrities including Michael Jackson and Prince among many others.
  2. Euceda has been charged with two counts of trafficking. She’s also facing child endangerment charges and her daughter has been placed in the care of a relative. She was booked into the Durham County Detention Center and is being held on $100,000 secured bond.
  3. She faces serious time behind bars if convicted. And rightfully so. These drugs are killing people, and there have been more fentanyl arrests in 2021 so far than in all of 2020. The more it circulates in the streets, the more people will needlessly die.
