Woman Caught Driving At 130mph Has A ‘Crappy’ Excuse For Speeding, Officers Say Derbyshire Police

Police pulled a reckless driver over this week on the M1 highway in the UK after she was caught driving at speeds up to 130mph. The Mercedes G Wagon was stopped between junctions when Derbyshire Police pulled the female driver over, BBC News reports. However, her excuse for going nearly double the speed limit was interesting, to say the least.

  1. The driver didn’t even have a full license. Instead, officers noticed that she had only a provisional license, meaning she hadn’t yet passed her driving test and therefore should not have been on the road without being supervised by another licensed driver. That was her first offense but certainly not her only one.
  2. She claimed she was speeding because she needed the toilet. While we all know how tough it can be when you’re on the road and needing a number one (or worse, a number two) and you’re nowhere near home. It’s enough to make anyone want to put the pedal to the metal, but this is a bit ridiculous.
  3. Police noticed that she could have stopped at a service station. As the driver sped down the M1, she passed a service station that had restrooms available, shedding a bit more doubt on the already dubious claim.
  4. The driver’s car was seized and the woman was reported for her speeding. The police added that the woman was left to find her own way home.
