If you read the headline and thought, “This has to have happened in Florida,” you’d be right. Palm Beach Police responded to a home after receiving reports of a man calling for help. When they arrived, they discovered that 30-year-old Viven Palmer had covered her husband in barbecue sauce and chased him with butcher knives, WJAX reports.
- The victim was yelling “Help, police!” from his front door. When they arrived, Palmer refused to speak to officers as she loaded a car outside the home with various items. Two kids, aged four and nine, were in the car at the time.
- The couple had been arguing about getting divorced. The husband told police that he and Palmer were in a heated fight about divorcing when “his wife came after him, damaging property along the way.”
- Palmer’s mode of attack was creative, to say the least. Her husband said that Palmer ripped off his shirt, poured barbecue sauce all over him, and then hit him. When he fought back, she grabbed two butcher knives and chased him outside with one knife in each hand.
- Palmer was arrested and charged. She faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer. She was booked into Palm Beach County Jail but was soon released on $5,000 bail.
