A woman on TikTok who flew across the country to meet a guy she’d been talking to online admitted that the experience didn’t turn out quite as she’d have hoped. Samantha, who posts as @sdenoyer, said she’d met the guy on FaceTime and they had great chemistry so she decided to fly across the country to meet him. What happened next is pretty disappointing, to say the least.

- Things started off well enough. When Samantha arrived, she and the guy stayed at his hometown house on night one before heading to a hotel and brunch on the second day. It seemed like it was going okay… until he disappeared.
- The guy ditched her… while she was asleep. In a now-viral TikTok video, Samantha writes: “I flew across the country to meet a date – when I woke up from a nap he was gone along with all of his stuff.” That’s right – she just woke up and there wasn’t a trace of him left. WTF?
- She also shared a string of text messages she sent the guy. After discovering he was gone, Samantha was obviously upset and more than a little confused, especially given that she’d come all this way to see him. “This is so f—ked up,” she texted him. “ou could’ve done this earlier so I coulda changed my flight wtffff.” She added: “Also you took my vodka???” explaining in a follow-up video that they’d played board games and drank before he ghosted her.
- Samantha tried calling him, but of course he ignored her calls. However, eventually, a mutual friend called him and he answered with loud music in the background. He later claimed that he had a “family emergency” and that’s why he ditched Samantha. However, he never apologized for what he did or for being full of s–t.
- Samantha considers the whole thing a “huge lesson learned.” I bet she’ll search for love much closer to home moving forward. At least if she gets ditched by a jerk, she’ll be able to go home to her own bed!
