Woman Gives Birth To ‘eBaby’ After Buying Artificial Insemination Kit Online

A British woman is a proud mom to a baby girl after giving birth thanks to an artificial insemination kit she bought on eBay. Private fertility clinics were too costly for Stephenie Taylor, who took to the online auction site because she really wanted another child but didn’t want another relationship, the Daily Star reports.

  1. No, the sperm didn’t come with it. Taylor bought sperm from the Just A Baby app but got the insemination kit itself off eBay. There was also a link to a YouTube video that detailed how to use the kit, and it must have been pretty easy to comprehend because it worked!
  2. She was choosy about the sperm she chose. Using the Just A Baby app, Taylor did a lot of swiping to find the perfect match. She was looking for sperm from a family-oriented man who had no history of serious illness and with similar features to the son she already had. It took only a day to find the perfect match.
  3. Taylor conceived on her first try. After the donor dropped off his sperm, Taylor decided to give the kit a try and it worked the first time. Talk about a miracle!
  4. Baby Eden was born last autumn. Taylor describes her daughter as a “real online baby” and “a bit of a miracle.” She said: If I didn’t have access to all that electronically then she wouldn’t be here. But I’m over the moon to be a mum again and I’m proud of the way she came into the world.” Now, her son Frankie, who turns five next month, is a big brother!
  5. Her sperm donor would do it again in the future. If she wanted more children in the future, the man who donated the sperm said he’d be “happy to do it again” because he considers Taylor to be an “amazing person.”
