Woman Involved In High-Speed Car Crash Says She ‘Let God Take The Wheel’ As Test Of Faith

An Ohio woman involved in a head-on collision is facing multiple charges after she says she “let God take the wheel” as a test of faith. The unnamed 31-year-old drive from Beachwood drove her car into several power lines, a utility pole, and someone’s house before coming to a stop. Thankfully, no one was hurt, Fox8 reports.

  1. The woman’s 11-year-old daughter was in the passenger seat. This stunt wasn’t just stupid, it was downright dangerous. The mother and daughter were both taken to a local hospital for evaluation and were said to be unharmed, but that’s down to sheer luck. The driver was said to have struck another vehicle which caused hers to spin out at such a high speed that it eventually crashed into the pole, another car, and a nearby home.
  2. The woman didn’t seem to be under the influence. While you might suspect that drugs or alcohol led the woman to make this terrible choice, that’s not the case. There was no sign that the woman was under the influence of any substance illegal or otherwise.
  3. She told police she wants to “test the faith in God.” According to a police report, the woman claimed that she intentionally sped through a red light in order to “test her faith in God,” adding that she’d recently experienced “trials and tribulations” and decided to “let go and let God take the wheel.”
  4. She showed no remorse for what she did. She told police that she believes what she did was the right thing and had no regrets.
  5. Now she’s facing multiple charges. The woman was arrested and charged with felony assault, endangering a child, and driving under the influence. She will be arraigned in court in the coming weeks.
