Woman Who Lured Underage Boy Out Of School For Sex Got Caught By Husband

A woman who lured an underage boy out of school to have sex with him will only spend 90 days behind bars. Amanda Katherine Steele, 35 and from Soda Springs, Idaho, was handed a three to 10-year prison sentence that was suspended so long as she successfully completes seven years of probation. The sentence came after she managed to amend three felony counts of child sexual battery committed by lewd conduct by pleading guilty to two felony counts of injury to a child.

  1. The affair took place in 2016. Steele engaged in a sexual relationship with the boy, 17, in 2016. It was revealed that he would skip school and Latter-Day Saint seminary in order to go to her house and engage in the relationship. While the boy originally denied everything, he eventually fessed up and told police everything about the affair.
  2. She was caught out by her husband. Yes, in addition to carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a minor, she did so while being married. At least one of the times Steele and the boy had sex happened at his home while another happened at hers. In fact, her now-ex-husband has since revealed that he once saw them “snuggling” in a hot tub.
  3. Steele was initially reported in 2017. According to East Idaho News, Steele’s father-in-law is said to have turned her in a few years back, telling police that rumors had been circulating that she had young boys hanging around her house. However, the initial investigation petered out pretty quickly. It’s unclear how the case eventually came to be prosecuted.
  4. In addition to her 90 days in jail, she’ll have other consequences as well. She’ll have to complete 300 hours of community service and $4,671 in fines. However, because the offense she pleaded guilty to was non-sexual, she won’t have to register as a sex offender.
