What was meant to be one of the happiest days in a woman’s life left her in a fair amount of pain. Montserrat Cox’s boyfriend proposed to her while on a wildlife animal safari when a giraffe came into the scene and smacked her in the face, leaving her in a neck brace. Thankfully, the whole thing was caught on video and has since gone viral on TikTok.

- Montserrat’s boyfriend was trying to be super romantic. He even got down on bended knee to pose the question, but the giraffe swooped in and stole his moment. As her boyfriend opens a ring box, the giraffe goes to give Montserrat a smooch. The moment did go down well, but she later realized she was injured.
- The giraffe actually headbutted her. The animal obviously won’t have been trying to hurt her, but as it came into the scene, it actually smacked her in the head. “Had to wear a neck brace for the next few days — but still the best proposal ever,” Montserrat captioned the TikTok video.
- Some people think it was a bad omen. However, Montserrat was quick to set the record straight. “No friends; It’s not a sign of anything. We have been very happy together for 7 years. The giraffe was just being a giraffe,” she wrote in the comments section to address the naysayers. I’m sure they’ll be just fine!
