Woman Robs Mail Truck With Toy Gun Then Escapes On Tricycle Collier County Sheriff's Office

A woman was arrested after she allegedly robbed a mail truck with a toy gun before making off on a tricycle. Leida Crisostomo, 52, was charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon after police arrived on the scene in Collier County, Florida, WHTR reports. She allowed police to take her into custody without incident.

  1. Several witnesses called the authorities. All of them told police the same thing: a woman was riding around on a tricycle and pointing a gun at people. That’s exactly what police found her doing, though they later discovered the gun was a toy rather than the real thing.
  2. She robbed a mail truck before police arrived. According to the postal worker, Crisostomo pointed the gun at her and forced her to hand over a package from the truck before getting back on the tricycle and riding away.
  3. Chrisostomo told police she was God. She then claimed that the voices in her head were telling her to do things. Hopefully they got her some mental health help as it’s clear she was in crisis.
  4. She was arrested and taken into custody. She was held on $25,000 bond and awaiting arraignment.
