Woman Sparks Debate After Revealing Stranger Offered Her $200K For Her Dog

Like many dog owners, I consider my pup to be part of my family. He’s my baby — no, I don’t equate him with human children (though to be honest, I prefer the dog), but the love and companionship I’ve experienced with him over the past 11 years of his life are incredible and I wouldn’t sacrifice it for the world. TikTok user Alexis Elliott appears to agree with me. She revealed in a recent video that someone offered her $200,000 for her puppy and she outright refused. A debate then erupted in the comments section, and it’s clear that not everyone gets as attached to their pets.

To be fair, $200K is a lot of money.

That’s life-changing money for most people, in fact. While it’s unclear if this is actually a true story (because honestly, no dog is worth that much money and the stranger who reportedly offered this could have bought plenty of dogs for that kind of money), the principle behind it is interesting enough.

Alexis said she never even considered taking the cash.

To her, it was a no-brainer to turn down the stranger’s offer and keep hold of her pup.

“Someone offered us $200,000 for our puppy and I told my husband absolutely [expletive] not because I birthed her,” she explained in her clip.

“Would you guys sell your dogs for 200k? Like, that is my baby. That is my baby, I birthed her, that is my child.

“Like, there is no money, I would not sell her but it just got me thinking. I wonder if people would have taken that 200k, and this was like legit.”

A lot of people said in the comments they’d have taken the offer.

While I can’t imagine trading my dog for cash, never knowing what becomes of him and if he’s okay, people in the comments section on Alexis’ video clearly did not agree.

“I would absolutely without even thinking about it LMAO,” one person said.

Another wrote: “Honestly yes lol 200k would change my life. as long as they seemed like good people.”

A third person joked (?): “Would run upstairs so fast and pack his bag.”

Would you do it? (And if so, how could you?!)
