Woman Swallows Her Father’s Ashes After Abusive Ex Pours Urn Over Her During Attack

A British woman is believed to have accidentally swallowed some of her late father’s ashes after her abusive ex-boyfriend dumped an urn containing them over her head during a vicious attack. Paul Knight, 43, is said to have turned up at the unnamed woman’s house drunk on July 12 of this year and subjecting her to abuse.

  1. The abusive Knight dumped ashes on her ex after administering other abuse. According to court documents, he is said to have bitten and kicked the woman until she fell to the ground, after which he dumped the urn of her father’s ashes over her head, causing her to ingest some of them.
  2. Thankfully, she managed to call for help. After calling emergency services, she kept her phone recording under her bed so that responders could hear the abuse and document what was taking place. Soon after, police arrived on the scene to arrest Knight.
  3. They had been in an on-again, off-again relationship. The victim told authorities that she had been involved with Knight on and off for the past 12 months but that he’d always been “volatile” towards her.
  4. Things escalated to a whole new level on the night of the attack. As per the woman’s statement, Knight arrived at her house at about 9:30 p.m. and she let him in. He began arguing with her before heading up to bed, but the victim stayed downstairs until she heard crashing and banging coming from the second floor.
  5. Knight was on a rampage. When the woman went upstairs, she discovered Knight ripping pages out of a book and smashing up a table lamp. He then turned his vitriol on her, calling her names and slapping her across the face repeatedly. He also bit her shoulder and knocked her down before pouring the urn of ashes over her head, The Sun reports.
  6. At least he pled guilty. Before the court, Knight pled guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage. His lawyer claimed that an alcohol treatment program might help him, but it’s unclear whether or not he will spend any time in prison for his crime.
