A Chinese woman reportedly took 23 family members with her on a blind date to test the man’s generosity. According to Taizhou Evening News, she showed up to the restaurant in the country’s Zhejiang province with nearly two dozen relatives in tow, much to her date’s shock, and the group racked up a pretty considerable bill. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it didn’t work out as she might have hoped.
- The woman and her family ended up spending $3,000. Imagine turning up to a blind date not only with tons of family members but also expecting the guy to foot the bill, which in this case is said to have gone into the thousands? Talk about a hot mess.
- Unsurprisingly, the guy dipped. According to reports, the 29-year-old man, known only as Mr. Lui, is said to have quickly gotten out of there and left the woman and her family behind to pay the bill. Smart choice.
- His mom had set up the date. I bet she’s sorry about that now! Originally, the man is said to have offered to pay for the date as a gentlemanly thing to do. However, I’m pretty sure that was on the basis that it was just the two of them dining, not her extended family as well!
