Woman Says Tinder Kicked Her Off Because She’s So Hot That Her Photos Look Fake

A Florida woman has claimed that she was discriminated against by Tinder, who kicked her off the dating app because she was “too attractive.” Luna Benna, 21, signed up for Tinder in 2017 and was pretty immediately overwhelmed with matches. However, it wasn’t long before people started stealing her pictures and using them to catfish people, leading to Tinder eventually banning her because they assumed her profile was fake.

  1. Men are pretty much obsessed with her. According to Luna, men went nuts for her Tinder pics and immediately started competing for her affections, buying her gifts, offering to take her on lavish vacations and give her money, and even asking her to marry them. “I was young, dumb and… looking for love. I received so many odd and silly messages during my time on Tinder,” Luna told Jam Press of her time on the app. “People offering me vacations, proposing to me, even offering money if I agreed to meet up with them. I never actually went through with that one, by the way.”
  2. She never did find love on the app. While she had plenty of matches, Luna admits none of the guys ever worked out. In fact, some of them were downright weird. “I definitely matched with people I liked. Did lots and lots of texting and FaceTiming, phone calls – the whole thing,” she recalled. “Although I only actually ever met up with a couple of people from Tinder. One was a super awkward experience – the dude said my presence was so powerful it made him uncomfortable. He said it honest-to-god temporarily paralyzed him and he’d never met a woman like me before. We didn’t have much in common and the vibe got weird after that.”
  3. The catfishing was the final straw for Luna on Tinder. Because of her attractiveness, her photos were regularly stolen and used on fake profiles and her experience began going downhill. “From time to time, people would threaten me, on Tinder, me for being too good-looking. People were stealing my photos and making money using my images,” she explained. “Catfishing, basically. It’s really disappointing when people create fake profiles after stealing my images – it’s sad for the person behind the image, and sad for the person who gets catfished.”
  4. She can’t seem to get a profile that’s not taken down. Because Luna has so many photos online and they’ve been copied so often, every time she tries to set up a new profile photo, she’s immediately taken down because Tinder assumes the profile is fake. “I’ve had a lot of different looks over the years, and have been on the Internet forever, so they have lots of options to work with,” Luna said. “There’s even a fake Facebook of me somewhere that someone made, it currently has thousands of followers! I just need to keep reminding myself I can’t do anything about it, and it’s out of my control.”
  5. She did eventually find a boyfriend. Luckily, Luna did eventually find love on the dating app just before she was banned for good. Looks like every cloud has a silver lining!
