Whether or not you’re big on fashion, everyone can appreciate a LOOK. Sometimes something so innovative and refreshing comes along that even if you couldn’t care less about clothes and accessories, you have to admire its genius. Such is the case with Lilian Smith and her bath puff-turned-fascinator.
Yes I know England are through to the last 16 at the World Cup but can we please all actually be upstanding for Lilian from Preston who has gone to a wedding wearing a fascinator she made from a bath puff pic.twitter.com/9UoHq750Ww

- Necessity is the mother of invention. Writing to a UK magazine, Lancashire native Lilian revealed that she had a big party coming up but no headwear to go with her outfit. Not content to just go fascinator-less, she was inspired when she came across a bath puff in the exact color she needed and knew exactly what she needed to do.
- It was genius in its simplicity. All Lilian had to do to get this fancy fascinator was to attach the bath bomb to a hair clip, clip it in her hair, and go. “It matched my outfit perfectly and looked great!” Lilian wrote. I bet it did!
- To be honest, could you really tell the difference? Fascinators by nature are pretty ridiculous accessories by nature. They’re sort of meant to look insane even though in theory, they’re supposed to be refined and super posh. The fact that Lilian wore a bath puff on her head is hilarious, but it’s also not all that obvious. Plenty of fascinators have excessive netting that kinda looks like something you’d wash your body with, so I’m into it.
- She probably saved a ton of money too. I have never bought a fascinator and I would never wear one, but a quick Google search shows that they can get pretty pricy if you’re going for a nice one. By just clipping a bath puff, which probably cost around $1, to a hair clip and being on your way isn’t just genius, it’s also cost-effective considering she probably never would have worn it again.
