Woman Who Worked At Olive Garden For 10 Years Reveals Horrifying Restaurant Secrets

A woman who worked at Olive Garden for 10 years revealed horrifying secrets behind the restaurant in a TikTok video and said that she would never eat there because of what she witnessed during her time as an employee. The woman, who posts under the username @spookyshanny, revealed a long list of issues at the chain including lax cleanliness standards and even terrible ingredient quality. Her revelations came as a response to the prompt: “Name one restaurant you will never eat at, no matter how hungry you are.”

  1. Her warning was pretty stark: “Just trust me, don’t eat there.” In the video, she was pretty frank about her thoughts on Olive Garden. “I worked there for 10 years. There’s a reason why you feel like s**t after you eat there,” she said. She kept it kind of vague in terms of specifics, but if there’s anyone I trust about a restaurant’s quality, it’s someone who used to work there.
  2. Viewers were desperate to know what she witnessed. More than 2.5 million people have seen the video, and thousands of them are begging OP to reveal what exactly happened there to make her so against Olive Garden’s food. “Omg I always felt terrible eating there and I knew I wasn’t crazy. That food never sat well,” one person commented, to which Shanny replied, “Never will because IT ISN’T REAL FOOD!!!!”
  3. Other former Olive Garden employees corroborated her statements. “I agree with you. My husband worked there and omg the things he’s told me made me never want to eat there again,” one person wrote. Another added: “Ha! I worked there too and haven’t stepped foot inside one since.”
  4. OP took major issue with the food itself at Olive Garden. As she wrote, the dishes are never handled with care or even containing authentic ingredients. “All across the board, they changed their chicken about six years ago from good chicken to chicken that’s not so great,” she said. “It’s not 100% chicken, and the chicken that comes on the never-ending pasta bowl is actually canned chicken. Or, canned mystery chicken.” Also, bad news for anyone who likes the cheese boards there: “Also, mystery cheeses, all across the board.”
  5. No one washed the salads. Not only were they contaminated but they weren’t usually washed, at least at Shanny’s restaurant. There’s always caterpillars and spiders that we have to pull out of the salad mix,” she claimed. “Servers, all day long, are picking toppings with their fingers out of there and eating it. It’s just the way it is.”
  6. Your servers probably aren’t all that clean either. “They took sanitizing wipes away from the Olive Garden servers, so the majority of them aren’t sanitizing or even bothering to wash their hands,” Shanny shared. I don’t think I’ll be going to Olive Garden again anytime soon!
