World War II Nurse Celebrates 100th Birthday By Skydiving for The First Time WPTV5

A Florida woman who served as a nurse during World War II decided to commemorate her 100th birthday in a very special way: by going skydiving for the very first time. Raymonde Sullivan from Sebastian looks like she had an incredible time doing it too!

  1. Sullivan always said she’d jump out of a plane if she reached 100. According to NBC 5, Sullivan had been telling friends for years that if she got to triple digits age-wise, she’d go skydiving. No one believed her, but she proved she meant business!
  2. She decided to give it a shot. Not knowing how many years she has left and wanting to fulfill her bucket list, Sullivan decided to take the jump, so to speak. “I’ve never done it,” she told NBC 5 after her experience. “And I’ve done a lot of things in 100 years. I thought I must do it while I can.”
  3. Despite being frightened, she pushed herself to do it. Sullivan was brave more than 70 years ago when she cared for wounded soldiers and she’s kept that same spirit all these years later. “It was scary. I would say it is,” she admitted.
  4. She won’t be doing it again. While she had a lot of fun and is glad she went skydiving, Sullivan admits she’s not in a hurry to repeat the experience. Asked if she’d go again, she replied: “No. No.”
