It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for some new episodes of You. In theory, it should have happened a long time ago, but as with many TV shows and movies, production was held up because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to keep the cast and crew safe. However, there’s finally a spot of good news to celebrate: You Season 3 has officially finished filming!
(Also, the episodes are fucking bonkers and the performances are insanely good. That’s all I’ll say about that till we are ready to talk about the new season.)

- The new season is due to drop later this year. The interminable wait is nearly over since You Season 3 will premiere on Netflix sometime before the end of 2021. While there’s no premiere date set just yet as there’s still much more work to be done on the series, we should have new episodes by autumn. It’s about time!
- Showrunner Sera Gamble announced that production has wrapped up. Gamble took to social media earlier this week to reveal that not only had the new season wrapped up, but the episodes are “f***ing bonkers” with some of the best acting performances in the series’ history. “The episodes are f***ing bonkers and the performances are insanely good,” she wrote. “That’s all I’ll say about that till we are ready to talk about the new season.”
- The ‘You’ set has been ridiculously safe. Gamble revealed that despite production resuming, safety was at the forefront of everyone’s minds and thankfully, no one ever got infected. “We had zero on-set positive COVID tests through a significant and scary surge here in LA. And haven’t had one since,” she revealed. “Because every single member of cast & crew worked very hard to take care of each other during a time that’s stressful, in a situation that’s tough to control. Obviously there is also an element of sheer good luck in this statistic. It’s impossible to totally negate risk in a pandemic. But this span we managed to have represents SO much effort and care on the part of the production, our COVID team, and our studio.” That’s awesome!
- Who knows what Season 3 will bring? We know very little about what we can expect from the new season of You, but it will without a doubt be insanely watchable just like the first two. I can’t wait!
