MrBeast, the most popular YouTuber with more than 105 million subscribers on the video platform, has admitted that he put his girlfriend through “the test” when they first met. Because he couldn’t be sure she was genuine about wanting to be with him, the 23-year-old, named Jimmy Donaldson, set out to determine her true intentions.

  1. Apparently, he doesn’t really “get along with women.” Appearing on the “Flagrant” podcast, MrBeast said getting a girlfriend is tough for him given his issues with the fairer sex. “[She has] to go through these tests because like, I don’t, I don’t really get along with women,” he said.
  2. So, what kind of tests did MrBeast’s girlfriend have to endure? It’s all about finding out what kind of media they like, if they’re naturally curious/into learning, and if they have any hobbies. “If I meet a girl that’s like beautiful and we have these 10 traits like we’re gonna be literally best friends, right?” he said, adding that his girlfriend, Thea Booysen, “check[s] every single one of them.”
  3. How did he test her exactly? “I had to put her through the wringer and start asking questions,” Donaldson explained. In other words, he basically acted like their date was a job interview to figure out where she stood. That sounds like tons of fun… not.
  4. It’s not easy to be with him, Thea admits. She did her own appearance on the “Wide Awake” podcast, on which she said it’s “super anxiety-inducing” to be with Donaldson and that she’s always accused of being a “gold digger” due to his YouTube popularity. However, she tries to ignore the haters, saying: “I don’t take it seriously at all like, I know this is the process that’s going to take place as people are going to assume the worst of course. They don’t even know [me].”
