6 Zodiac Signs Most Likely To Stand You Up

Dating smarter can save you a lot of unnecessary heartbreak. You need to do a little homework on who you’re dealing with so you can decode any potential hiccups in your interaction with them. One crappy dating scenario is the infamous stand-up. Read on to find out why this might’ve happened to you based on the zodiac sign of your would-be date (had it happened) and whether or not it’s worth giving them a second chance.

  1. Libra Libras are known for the gift of gab, except that’s also all they are—talk. They rarely follow through with what they say they’re going to do, no matter how convincing they sound. The worst part is they’re so verbally confident, even they believe they’re going to keep their promises! Don’t even bother confronting a Libra after the fact because they’ll just keep trying to talk their way out of it and never admit to being wrong. Enjoy the fun you have with them when you’re around them, but otherwise don’t expect much consistency or integrity. They also may just flat out lie to you because they’re too busy chasing other fun. This just isn’t the most serious sign and if you’re looking for a real date and not just a good time, you’d do best to move on.
  2. Capricorn Capricorns can be really tunnel-visioned. They work too hard practically to the point of selfishness. If a Capricorn stood you up, it’s probably because they were off trying to make money and get their goals accomplished and didn’t have time to stop their hustle to spend time with you. If you need a lot of attention or aren’t the best at pulling your own weight and being independent in a relationship, you need to move on. If you’re OK with respecting your partner’s grind and can wait on them, then don’t take it personally and use your free night to entertain yourself instead. They’ll respect you more for it and come back even better when they can.
  3. Virgo Virgos are massively self-critical perfectionists. If they get to the point of being able to ask you out on a date in the first, it’s very likely they do actually want to be out with you. They are probably just busy second-guessing themselves over and over and lost the confidence to show up. To them, it’s just not worth doing if it’s not going to be done right. They’d rather forego the entire attempt than mess it up. If you really like this person, give them a second chance to get their nerves in order. You might just need to take the lead a bit at first.
  4. Gemini This sign is known to be flakey and lie. They probably didn’t even mean it when they asked you out and never had any intention of showing up. They’re also likely to do a complete switch up and go from being loyal and consistent to ghosting you out of nowhere. Trying to make something serious work with a Gemini will surely leave you confused and frustrated. Quit while you’re ahead with this one.
  5. Taurus Honestly, you’re probably better off if they didn’t show up because if they like you and get attached, it could get stage-5 clinger stalker-y real quick. Tauruses are creatures of habit and love to stay within their comfort zone. It’s hard for them to change their routine and add new people into their lives. They probably didn’t show up because they were too stubborn to try something out of their fixed norm. If you did end up on a date together and hit it off, you may never get rid of this person later down the line if you decide the match isn’t for you. If you really like this person, stick it out through a rough beginning. Otherwise, dealing with their rigidity will likely be a headache for a long, slow road until it starts to get better.
  6. Cancer People of this sign are usually committed and consistent. If they stood you up, you must have hurt them really badly and driven them out of character. They’re too busy being in their feelings and vulnerable to follow through with the date. If you care about this person, you’ll need to either wait out their emotional self-pity storm or make a grand gesture to cheer them up. Once they’re out of their mood, the rescheduled date will be worth it.
