Ever notice the different types of people that fill up your social media feeds? It doesn’t matter whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram – couples tend to express themselves or show their love to the world in different ways, and chances are you’ve come across every kind, some more obnoxious than others. Curious to know the types of couples that are sabotaging your news feed on a daily basis, or are you afraid you’re one of them? Here they are!
- The Braggers. These couples always do the most when it comes to showing the world their love. Their feed is full of conversations between the two even though they have each other’s phone numbers (or maybe even live together). They also take a ton of selfies, and write long paragraphs about how wonderful their love is. It’s the equivalent of being the couple making out in front of other people’s lockers.
- The Arguers. These are the worst, but definitely most entertaining! They have absolutely no shame about putting each other on blast for the world to see. They dish each other’s dirt and call each other names, and it’s rarely friends-only. You always say they should break up, but you kind of hope they don’t because your feed would be boring without them.
- The Inseparables. They share one profile, because obviously someone has trust issues if they had separate profiles before they were together. The statuses are mostly updates on both of their lives rather than the person you actually care about. You hardly interact with them because you feel weird about the other being able see everything you say.
- The Travel Duo. Every time you find a picture that’s giving you serious FOMO, it’s from this couple. They’re always on the move traveling and just living your dreams. There really isn’t anything negative to say about them except you hate them because you want to be them.
- The Fiancés. We ALL know who these couples are. The minute you saw the ring picture, you knew that your feed would be headed down a very interesting road. They fill up your feed with wedding announcements, pictures, and sometimes drama. You sometimes leave positive comments, but say what you’re really thinking about their choices in the safety of your own home with your own circle of friends. The minute you see the wedding and honeymoon pictures, you cheer that finally it’s all over.
- The New Parents. They’re really tired, and you know that because they post about it endlessly. But they’re also very happy and want to show off their baby every day, too. You know every little advancement their kid has made, from how much it weighs to how often it poops, thanks to their updates. It’s scary.
- The Athletic Duo. These two use apps that show how far they ran that day. You know this because it posts to their account. They also post more selfies flexing together in the gym than in any other situation. They both could take you if you got in a fight, and they want you to know it!
- The Invisible Duo. This is basically the opposite of “the braggers.” You tend to forget they have an account until they make a rare posting. They’re probably off just being a normal couple, or maybe they’re totally crazy. You would never know unless you hang out with them IRL.
- The Cheaters. If you just glance at their profiles, they look perfectly normal, but one of them routinely cheats on the other. You know this because that person likes to privately message other girls/boys to try to hook up. It’s a total creep move, but what can you do?
- The Flip-Floppers. You have no clue whether they’re together or broken up this week. One day they might be fighting publicly on their page, the next they’re saying how they can’t live without each other. They might be honest by using “it’s complicated” on their Facebook page, but it’s more likely they just keep switching between “single” and “in a relationship.” It’s exhausting.
