A woman was knocked unconscious and dragged across the road by an angry bison that ripped off her pants in a violent attack. The victim was part of a motorcycle gang and was injured by the animal after coming too close to its calf, as seen in a video of the terrifying incident. The 54-year-old is lucky to be alive after this, that’s for sure.
- The attack happened at Custer State Park in South Dakota. The Iowa woman was caught by her belt with the bison’s horn and swung around violently before being knocked unconscious, the Custer County Chronicle reported along with the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
- Having her pants ripped off is ultimately what saved her. “She was apparently saved when her pants came off and she fell to the ground unconscious,” the Sheriff’s Office report said. At that point, the herd of bison ran away.
- The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She was transported to the hospital on a helicopter and is thankfully expected to make a full recovery.
- The Sheriff’s Office urges motorcyclists and all other people traveling through the area to be cautious. They add that people should not get out and try to approach wild animals as it can very easily lead to attacks that don’t end quite so well.
