Everyone claims that confidence is the key to getting a man’s attention, but what if you’re insecure as hell? It doesn’t mean you’re destined to be forever alone — you just have to fake it until you make it.
Give your resting bitch face a rest.
You can’t change the way your face looks, but you can always add smile. The happier you look, the more relaxed you’ll appear.
Practice proper body language.
Instead of fidgeting with your jewelry, keep your hands folded on your lap. Instead of slouching in your chair, keep your back straight and head up. Looking confident is half the battle.
Think of all that you’ve accomplished.
Remember how hot your ex was? What about that sexy guy you hooked up with a few months ago? If you’ve been with attractive men before, then you must be a catch, so you have nothing to worry about.
Make direct eye contact.
If that’s too hard for you, you can always try looking at the spot between his eyes, right above his nose. It’ll create the illusion that you’re looking him dead on, but you won’t feel as awkward about it.
Drink a little.
The key word is a “little.” You don’t want to go overboard and end up looking sloppy. But a sip or two will loosen you up enough to remember what a hottie you are.
Plan your actions out ahead of time.
If you have a game plan for the evening, you’ll feel more confident. Before you walk up to a cute guy, think up a few conversation topics in case there’s a lull. Before you attend a job interview, practice your handshakes.
Remember that he’s human, too.
He has flaws. You’re not the only one cursed with insecurities, so don’t act like you’re an outsider.
Steer the conversation.
If your date goes on and on about something you know nothing about, bring up another topic. Talking about something you’re passionate about will make you feel much more comfortable.
Pick a theme song.
When you’re driving to meet your date or to attend an interview, listen to a badass song you can lip sync to. Just make sure it’s an empowering one that’ll put you in the right frame of mind. The cockier, the better.
Flip through your favorite selfies.
If your mirror isn’t doing you any favors, find your favorite selfie and stare at it before you socialize. It’ll remind you of how well you clean up. Any man would be lucky to have a girl as gorgeous as you.
Dress the part.
Only confident women walk around in high heels and tight dresses. Show the world you’re comfortable in your skin (even if it’s a lie) by wearing a little number that flaunts your assets.
Don’t turn statements into questions.
If you’re answering a question, don’t raise your voice at the end of your sentence. It’ll make you sound like you’re unsure about what you’re saying, and confident women are never unsure.
Have no f*cks to give.
Instead of faking confidence, try to actually gain it. The less you care about what other people think, the more confident you’ll feel. After all, if a guy doesn’t like you, there will always be a new one right around the corner.
