Domino’s Worker Shocks Everyone By Revealing How Much She Makes In Tips Every Night

While most people wouldn’t necessarily think that making or delivering pizzas would be a lucrative job, it looks like we couldn’t be more wrong. A Domino’s worker named Alison went viral on TikTok this week for not only revealing the decent base wage she makes — $17 an hour on average, according to Salary.com — but the amount of tips she gets on top of that on a nightly basis. To be honest, it’s not all that bad!

On one shift, Allison had 11 different deliveries and got varying levels of tips depending on how much people had ordered. For instance, the first person she delivered to ordered $50 worth of pizza, and she got to keep the change, which was a tip of $3.83. Not much (not even 10%!), but there are always some cheapskates out there. However, the next person who had a $36 order didn’t tip at all, so there’s that…

Later in the evening, she got a tip of just over $10, but that only just sorta made up for the several that didn’t tip her at all. Alison then revealed that over the course of the night, she made $13 in cash tips and $42.29 in credit card tips for a total of about $55 in total, or about $5 per house. That’s not bad considering she can add that to her base pay of around $136 (before taxes) for an 8-hour shift. However, it could (and should) be so much more if people tipped properly.

Alison loves being a Domino’s delivery driver even if some people are stingy with tips

However, there is a downside to this: Alison has to pay for her own gas, and the company doesn’t reimburse her for it. As she said herself, “It’s not terrible for a Monday, but it could be better – but it’s not terrible!”

Many people were shocked at how anyone could order food for delivery and not tip, especially in today’s economy. “2/11 gave no tips? I feel like those customers should be tracked. After five no-tip orders, they get banned, lol,” one person commented. Another simply said, “I can’t believe people don’t tip.” A third commiserated with Alison, apologizing on behalf of the stingy customers and saying, “I’m sorry that some people are so cheap.”

Regardless, Alison clearly has an incredibly positive attitude and seems really great at her job. Just give her more tips, people!
