Whether or not you consider yourself to be a spiritual person, there are certainly some strange, unexplainable things that happen in life. Take, for instance, the “ghost” one Reddit poster photographed standing near their car after a terrible crash.
U/Own-Medicine-2753 shared photos from the evening when they totaled their car, but it wasn’t the wrecked vehicle that was most notable — it was the figure lurking beside it.
The Redditor is lucky to be alive.
Taking to the r/Ghosts sub, they shared what happened during their accident, which took place in early 2023.
“A 4×4 did an illegal u turn and [smashed into] my car,” they wrote.
“I was driving and my partner was in the passenger seat. Once everyone was out and by the side of the road away from the accident I quickly wanted to grab some photos of the accident I took four pictures and I was very shaky when taking the pics and one came out the most clear.”
The figure in the photo? OP isn’t quite so sure.
The “ghost” in the photo looks somewhat familiar.

While the Redditor insisted that there was no one else around after the accident, there’s clearly something — or someone! — in the image, and when they think about it, they recognize the figure.
“In the pic I have attached nobody was there when I took the photo but standing by the driver side door (where I was) looks to me like a man who actually reminds me of my grandfather who passed away when I was 12 and then people who knew him think it’s him too,” they shared.
However, they added that the accident just so happened to take place close to a cemetery, so they’re not entirely sure if the figure is their grandfather or someone else.

Commenters think it could indeed be a ghost.
A few wondered if perhaps someone else had an accident in the same location but hadn’t been so lucky.
“Looks like he’s wearing a light blue shirt and the sleeves are rolled to his elbows. Maybe light brown hair,” the commenter wrote. “An adult, but not old. He may have long side burns or beard. I’ll bet he isn’t the only person to die there.”
However, another person suggested it may well have been the Redditor’s grandfather coming back to check he was okay. A third thought maybe it was the Redditor’s guardian angel showing himself to OP.
