Fan Who Caught Beyonce’s Sunglasses At Concert Is Trying To Sell Them For $20,000

Fans trying to make money off of items that have been worn by or even shared the same air as their favorite celebrity (looking at you, Eras Tour rainwater!) is nothing new, but one member of the Beyhive is seriously ready to cash in on his get. A 20-year-old Beyonce fan known on TikTok known as Global Valentino not only got to see the “Formation” singer in concert, but he also managed to get her designer sunglasses off her to take home. Now he’s hoping someone will pay him $20,000 for the shades.

To be clear, the sunglasses in question are from the designer label Off-White and the retail price is around $300 — far short of the hefty price tag the fan is putting on them. Nevertheless, the fact that they sat on the bridge of Beyonce’s nose apparently makes the sunglasses worth $19.5K more.

Given that Global Valentino is such a huge Bey fan, you’d think he’d want to keep hold of them forever as a memento of the concert. He claims he did think about it, but ultimately decided they had to go.

“It was a very difficult choice to make as a fan. Being gifted an item twice by Beyoncé will certainly remain the fondest memories of my life so far,” he told the New York Post, referring to the fact that the first pair of sunglasses was taken from him by security before Beyonce threw a second pair. “I’m a committed filmmaker who has chosen to auction the glasses to invest in my family and career.”

If you feel like you want to be in with a chance of grabbing Beyonce’s sunglasses for yourself, you’ll have to hit up Omega Auctions. They’re handling the sale for Valentino, who has them listed for anywhere between $12,000 and $20,000. Omega is a legit business — they previously sold John Lennon’s old house.

That being said, the auction doesn’t actually start until July 4 (very clever, Valentino — I see what you did there!) at 8pm EST. However, a lot of Beyhive members aren’t impressed with him, claiming that if he was a real fan, he would have held onto the glasses.

“Baby na why you selling them glasses, capitalism won again I fear,” one person wrote. Another added. “Assignment misunderstood. The FLEX is saying ‘You like my glasses?! I know, Beyoncé gave them to me, TWICE!’ Not profit,” a second person added.
