Pilot Annoyed When Airport Worker Assumes She’s A Flight Attendant Because She’s A Woman

There are some jobs in the world that are considered typically male. From car mechanics to bus drivers, women just aren’t expected to take on certain positions. That’s bullsh*t, of course, but misogyny runs deep, people. However, for the badass women who are breaking boundaries and following their passions, it can be annoying to deal with people’s close-mindedness. For instance, Sabrina Johnson is only 22 and she’s already a pilot of both planes and helicopters. Sadly, that hasn’t stopped airport workers from assuming she’s a flight attendant just because she’s female. Sabrina recently took to TikTok to vent her frustrations in a video that’s been viewed more than 3 million times.

Its jarring to me because they work at an airport. You know what the pilot uniforms are 😭 #pilotsoftiktok #airlines #fyp #bruh

  1. Every time she turns up at work, airport workers don’t believe she’s a pilot. “Gate agent looked me in the eye today and asked if I was the flight attendant,” she wrote. She admitted this was a “common occurrence” that she finds “jarring.”
  2. She’s wearing a pilot’s uniform, people! One of the reasons it’s so shocking to Sabrina that she’s mistaken for a flight attendant is that she literally wears a pilot’s uniform. Joe Public might not know what that looks like, but airport workers certainly should, no? “#Bruh,” she added to the video. And yeah, for real.
  3. Commenters came up with some great retorts. Many suggested comebacks Sabrina might use when this happens to her. For instance, one person said that when a worker asks if she’s a flight attendant, she should say, “Are you the pilot?” and when they say no, she can say, “Obviously, cuz I am.” Burn! Another jokingly suggested she should ask the gate agent if they’re the janitor.
  4. Despite all of that, she still loves her job. Sabrina Johnson adores being a female pilot and wouldn’t change her job for the world. She loves flying itself, but the ability to travel the world in the process is an added bonus. She often posts content about her job on TikTok, and it looks like a total blast.
