Gingerbread Man Tries To Walk Into Stranger’s House

An Arlington man was sitting down for dinner with his family when his Ring doorbell alerted him to the presence of someone outside his home. However, when he checked the camera, he was shocked to find that it wasn’t anyone he knew or was expecting — it was someone dressed like a gingerbread man.

The Gingerbread Man just… stood there.

The family, who wished to remain nameless since the “suspect” is still on the loose, said the December 13 incident was one of the strangest things they’ve ever experienced.

“My wife said ‘hey listen, there’s this guy, he didn’t ring the doorbell he’s just standing there and he’s in this gingerbread man costume’ and I’m like gingerbread man — what?” the homeowner told WUSA-9.

They didn’t know what to do, so they simply watched.

Seeing someone dressed as a gingerbread man outside your house is an odd experience, and since the stranger wasn’t doing anything at first, they decided to just observe him.

However, the gingerbread man then tried to come into the house.

“We noticed the door was trying to be pushed. We look at the camera and I’m looking at this guy in a costume.”

However, since the door was locked, the gingerbread man didn’t gain entry and didn’t try to force the issue. He simply… left.

The homeowner alerted the authorities.

While the culprit soon left the home and the incident didn’t go any further, the homeowner still reported it to the police.

“I just told them listen, I just want to report this, it’s not an emergency. Some guy came with a gingerbread man costume, and they [the operator] were like a gingerbread man? I’m like yes a gingerbread man costume. I have the video,” he shared.

Incidentally, a neighbor saw the gingerbread man earlier that evening along the same road.

“We have a big picture window that faces N George Mason. All of a sudden my dogs were going crazy barking out the window and I looked out, and there was a giant blow-up gingerbread man costume out on the sidewalk,” said Lindsey Churchill.

“We kind of locked eyes and the gingerbread man went on his way. So weird.”

While he hasn’t done anything awful, the gingerbread man is scaring people.

“It is kind of like a horror movie. In this costume this whole ordeal, what was the goal? Just to see if we’re home? Or to enter the house?” one homeowner said.

“It’s a good thing we had our doors locked.”
