It’s Finally Official: ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Will Debut On Disney+ In 2021 Walt Disney/Buena Vista Pictures

I feel like we’ve been talking about this sequel (or the possibility of it) forEVER, but this time it’s different! That’s because it’s finally been confirmed that Hocus Pocus 2 will be debuting on Disney+, and it’ll more than likely happen in 2021! See, I have a good feeling about next year!

  1. Adam Shankman told us it was happening! Earlier this year, director Adam Shankman did pretty much confirm the movie by sharing that he was working on the script for Hocus Pocus 2. Generally speaking, once you start writing a project like that, it’s pretty much a done deal. However, Disney itself never confirmed anything until now.
  2. Hocus Pocus 2 started pre-production a couple of months ago. It wasn’t that long ago that the IMDB page for the movie listed it as being in pre-production, which again pointed to the fact that it was well on its way to being a reality, with location scouting, casting, etc. being done to prep for filming.
  3. All three of the Sanderson sisters are back for the sequel. To be honest, Hocus Pocus 2 wouldn’t be worth doing if Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi didn’t all return to reprise their role as Winnie, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson. Thankfully, all three of the women are on board, so you just know it’s going to be good.
  4. We don’t really know what it’ll be about just yet. Sadly, there’s no real info in terms of plot for Hocus Pocus 2, but given that the first one was about the sisters coming back to life to try and consume a child to gain everlasting youth, we can probably expect something similar for the new version. To be honest, most fans probably won’t mind what the storyline is – we’ll just be grateful to indulge in a bit of childhood nostalgia. I know I will!
