People Are Finally Starting To Believe Amber Heard After Johnny Depp Court Documents Are Unsealed

Amber Heard has been vilified for months by Johnny Depp fans who insist she’s lying about being abused by the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and instead, she’s the abuser. The vitriol she has received has not only been unfair, but much of it has been downright dangerous, with Heard receiving death threats on her own life and that of her young daughter. However, it seems the tide is very slowly turning in her favor after more than 6,000 pages of court documents filed as part of Depp’s defamation case against heard were unsealed last weekend. Needless to say, much of what’s contained within the filing some Depp supporters feeling sick to their stomachs.

  1. Depp’s texts were some of the most damning parts of the unsealed documents. Some of the most shocking revelations came thanks to Depp’s text exchanges with accused sexual abuser Marilyn Manson, with the pair joking about one of Manson’s alleged victims being “Amber 2.0.” At one point, Manson suggests a “rape cave” so that he and Depp can reenact the film Salò, a movie so depraved that it’s banned in many countries for its graphic depictions of young people being raped, tortured, and ultimately killed. “Let’s have our own Salo. But no gay stuff with us,” they agree.
  2. The actor even offered up girls for Manson to have sex with. In one message, Depp, seemingly trying to cheer Manson up, offers to send him over one of his “new fans” and points out that she’s of legal age so there’s no chance of statutory rape or child sex charges. “My new fan meet and greet girl. Looks like you need it. Trust me. I’ll send a pic. 18,” Depp wrote.
  3. That wasn’t all the evidence against Depp. Also barred from being admitted as evidence was a text from Depp’s former assistant, Stephen Deuters, to Heard after an incident in which Heard said Depp had kicked her aboard a private plane. While Depp has always denied doing such a thing despite admittedly being off his head on drugs, Deuters’ text points to Depp’s guilt. “If someone was truly honest with him about how bad it really was, he would be appalled. I’m sad he does not have a better way to really know the severity of his actions yesterday. Unfortunately for me, I remember them in full, in full detail, everything that happened. He was appalled, when I told him he kicked you, he cried,” Deuters wrote. Records show that Depp later texted Heard to apologize, saying: “Once again, I find myself in a place of shame and regret. Of course I am sorry…I will never do it again…My illness somehow crept up and grabbed me…I feel so bad for letting you down.” His legal team claimed they couldn’t find the text in Depp’s iCloud account.
  4. Many Depp supporters are now starting to see the light. While Depp’s legal team did a convincing job painting Heard as a liar and the primary aggressor, the evidence, much of which was unfairly prohibited from ever being admitted in the courtroom, shows the truth. Many celebrities that previously “liked” Depp’s post-trial Instagram post have since unliked the post, Jezebel reveals, including Orlando Bloom, Robert Downey Jr., Sophie Turner, Bella Hadid, NikkieTutorials, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Coolidge, Joey King, Riley Keogh, Bruce Campbell, and even Amanda Knox.
  5. People are expressing their regret at ever having believed Depp. While it sucks to realize that an artist you grew up admiring is not the hero in real life that they portray on screen, the writing has been on the wall about Depp for a very long time. Finally, some people are starting to see it. “I’m so freaking disappointed and sad. I truly thought he was someone kind,” one fan lamented. Another added: “I’m just so ashamed of the fact that I supported him rn.” Sadly, so much damage has already been done to Heard and to her public image that it’s almost too little, too late.
  6. This should be considered a learning experience, though it sadly probably won’t be. Sex and culture critic Ella Dawson urged those who formerly believed Depp but are starting to see him for what he is to ask themselves some very important questions about why they refused to give credence to Heard’s claims for so long. “What unconscious beliefs do you hold about domestic abuse and sexual violence? What do you think motivates victims speak up about their experiences? Are there victims you are more likely to believe than others?” she asked. “What myths have you absorbed about false accusations of abuse and rape? Do you think false accusations are more dangerous than the crimes people are accused of? Has anyone in your life been accused of harm? Did you react to this allegation defensively or with an open mind?” Her whole post is well worth a read.
