Pisces Compatibility: Romantic Matches Ranked From Best To Worst

Born between February 19 and March 20, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. A water sign who’s passionate about life and love, Pisces is one of the most romantic signs of the zodiac and loves to dote on their partner. They can also be super-sensitive and tend to fall in love hard and fast, often without thinking. Here are the signs who make wonderful partners for Pisces and those in which the compatibility is seriously lacking.

  1. Cancer (June 21 – July 22) Two water signs like Pisces and Cancer can understand each other like no one else. Represented by the fish and the crab, these two belong together. They both crave deep emotional connections and are naturally caring and nurturing. Both show their love by doting on the other person, so there will be no shortage of affection in this pairing. Because both signs are sensitive, they’re able to empathize with each other’s feelings and understand where the other is coming from. This bond runs deep!
  2. Leo (July 23 – August 22) Leo doesn’t seem like a great match for Pisces upon first glance. But despite their differences, these two have the potential to share a truly passionate relationship. Both wear their hearts on their sleeve and give their all when they fall in love. As a result, both can be left feeling like their partner isn’t meeting them halfway, as not all the other signs fall so hard and so deep. But Leo and Pisces will connect over how strong their feelings are. In this relationship, Leo tends to take on the leadership role while Pisces adopts a more nurturing position.
  3. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21) Another water sign, Scorpio is also a great partner for Pisces. These two signs can relate to each other over many things that other people might not understand. They tend to react to situations in the same way and tend to both be loyal and committed to their partners. At times they might struggle with co-dependency since both signs tend to fall into all-consuming love where their independence and identities take a back seat. But as long as they maintain their self-awareness and know to put the brakes on when they become too consumed with each other, these two can be perfect.
  4. Aries (March 21 – April 19) A sign like Pisces, who falls so hard in love that they leave themselves vulnerable, needs a sign who will be loyal. Aries is one of the most loyal signs in the zodiac. Breaking hearts doesn’t come naturally to this fire sign, who will be as passionate in a relationship as Pisces. Their fiery temper might rub Pisces up the wrong way at times, but generally, these two fit together well due to their mutual understanding of commitment and loyalty.
  5. Libra (September 23 – October 22) Libra and Pisces can fit together well, but these two aren’t always the greatest couple. On one hand, they’re great together because Libra is so romantic and Pisces loves to be swept up off their feet. But on the other hand, Libra can be restless, like the other air signs. This can leave Pisces feeling insecure about where they stand in the relationship. For this to work, the signs need to work on keeping things exciting.
  6. Capricorn (December 22 – January 19) Capricorn and Pisces don’t seem like a fantastic match off the bat. But these two signs can be good together if they can manage to make their differences work in their favor. While Pisces loves to dream. Capricorn loves to act. Pisces thinks with their heart, Capricorn with their head. And Pisces leaps without looking while Capricorn plans everything in advance. These differences can bring balance and help each person to grow, or they can be the demise of the relationship.
  7. Aquarius (January 20 – February 18) There are reasons why Aquarius and Pisces can be a good pairing, and also those things that make them incompatible. Sitting right next to each other on the zodiac, these two signs are both free-spirited and positive. However, their issues arise because they’re not likely to be productive together, with Pisces being a dreamer and not encouraging Aquarius to take action. Aquarius can also be too distant and cold for Pisces.
  8. Taurus (April 20 – May 20) Being a logical earth sign, Taurus isn’t always the best match for Pisces. This sign prefers to plan ahead, tread with caution and can be quite materialistic. On the flip side, Pisces is spontaneous and free-spirited and has deep, intense interests. But because Pisces is a mutable sign, they explore and adjust to the feelings of those around them. So if they really want to make it work with Taurus, who doesn’t budge, they can.
  9. Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21) There’s good news and bad news when it comes to the idea of Sagittarius and Pisces as a couple. The bad news is that these two signs are starkly different. They are fire and water, harsh and sensitive, ambitious and lazy. But the good news is both signs are mutable, which means they can adapt to those around them. If they are meant to be together, then Sagittarius and Pisces can work it out.
  10. Gemini (May 21 – June 20) Gemini and Pisces tend not to be drawn to each other and are, on the whole, incompatible. Firstly, Gemini is a restless air sign with a thirst for adventure and new experiences. This sign also has a reputation for keeping their true feelings guarded and wearing two faces. Meanwhile, Pisces craves a deep relationship where they can be vulnerable. And in turn, they want to look after their partner. There are far better signs for Pisces to end up with, in theory. In reality, though, anything can happen!
  11. Virgo (August 23 – September 22) If there ever were two signs who were incompatible as a couple, it’s Virgo and Pisces. Both lack what the other needs and have an abundance of what they don’t want. With their quest for perfection and slightly judgmental nature, Virgo is likely to hurt the feelings of Pisces. And Pisces is sure to annoy Virgo with their imaginative, non-practical ideas. However, both signs are flexible and can adapt to those around them if the circumstances are right.
