Scientists Uncertain What ‘Unknown Species’ Is After Finding ‘Non-Human DNA’ In ‘Alien Corpse’ Canal del Congreso México

Earlier this year, an event in Mexico took over the news cycle as scientists unveiled what they claimed was a complete mummified alien corpse as “proof” that extraterrestrials are here and that they’ve been to Earth. While many people had a good laugh, scientists now claim they’ve run DNA tests on the “being” and that they have no idea what it actually is.

Ufologist and journalist Jaime Maussan says the body isn’t from “any known species.”

In fact, Maussan said he had a team of scientists from the Autonomous National University of Mexico run very detailed tests on the “remains” to learn more about its genetic makeup. However, they were left with more questions than answers.

Maussan claimed that 30% of the being’s DNA is “non-human,” though he also failed to mention what the other 70% is. Papier mache? Sculpting clay?

None of the so-called scientists have been able to expand on what they mean by “unknown species,” either.

Maussan testified at the Mexican Congress about the findings.

The “corpses” were brought in from Cusco in Peru and unveiled to great fanfare (to UFO nuts, anyway). He insistsed that the mummies are “authentic” and made up of a single skeleton rather than random bits and pieces from who knows what origin.

Maussan also testified that the bodies are “definitely not human” but declined to give any further info. I suppose an arts and crafts project isn’t human at all — it’s an inanimate object, so technically he’s correct?

He’s clearly passionate about the “findings.”

The Daily Star obtained a transcript of Maussan’s testimony, in which he stated: “This is the first time extraterrestrial life has been presented in this manner.

“We have a clear example of non-human specimens unrelated to any known specimens on our planet. These specimens do not belong to our terrestrial evolution.”

He added: “They were not creatures discovered by a UFO crash. Instead, they were found in diatom mines and later transformed into fossilized mummies.”

It’s hard to figure out what the point of all of this really is.

There are plenty of skeptics out there (of which I am admittedly one!) who wonder why people are so insistent on finding extraterrestrial life out there when we can’t even properly support life on our own planet.

There’s also the fact that those who are passionate about aliens seem to have a very limited imagination when it comes to how they might look. These “bodies” magically look a whole lot like E.T., which is more than a bit coincidental, don’t you think?
