Selena Gomez Stands Up For Taylor Swift After Hailey Bieber Mocks Her

Selena Gomez has spoken out in support of her longtime BFF Taylor Swift after Hailey Bieber mocked the “Anti-Hero” singer on an old episode of “Drop The Mic.”

In the clip from the show, Bieber stuck her finger down her throat like she was gagging when Swift’s name was so much as mentioned. And while the episode aired back in 2018, it’s recently gone viral again for all the wrong reasons, which is how it came to Gomez’s attention.

Method Man, who co-hosted the show with Bieber, tells Bieber in the video that one of the rap battles featured on that episode had “some of the meanest lyrics about a celebrity since Taylor Swift’s last album.” That’s when Bieber stuck her finger down her throat and acted like she was throwing up. Talk about meme girl vibes!

No one really paid much attention to it at the moment, but leave it to the internet to unearth clips like this even years later. After TikTok user @duckcopycat0 called Bieber out by posting the video, Selena Gomez came underneath the post to defend Taylor Swift.

“So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game,” she wrote. That’s pretty sweet!

Weirdly enough, this isn’t the first beef between Gomez and Bieber. Only recently, Bieber and Kylie Jenner were accused of making fun of Gomez’s eyebrows on Instagram. However, Jenner denied that she meant any harm. “No shade towards Selena ever. I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U [sic] guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly,” the Kylie Cosmetics mogul wrote.

All of this, of course, is a bit silly. Lest we forget, Selena Gomez is now the most followed woman on Instagram, so she’s probably not worried about all this pettiness on social media.
