All Of Taylor Swift’s Friends Are Unfollowing Joe Alwyn On Instagram

It’s only been a few weeks since Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn broke up (or at least since we found out), but the “Lavender Haze” singers friends have already sprung into action by unfollowing him on social media. From Swift’s own brother Austin to fellow celeb pals including Gigi Hadid, the Haim sisters, and Ryan Reynolds, Alwyn’s follower list is missing a few big names.

Fans seem to be having a field day with this development, scouring the socials not just of Alwyn and Swift, but of everyone they’re known to be pals with. Hawk-eyed Redditors over on r/FauxMoi (and likely Swifties) were the first to notice the changes. And while it might not seem like a big deal, it is primo celebrity gossip.

“Everybody hating on this non news but this is the gossip I need! I don’t care who it’s about — let some rando stans do the research to tell me some celeb I don’t care about unfollowed another. Juicy! Gossip! Irrelevant! I’ll eat it up,” one commenter shared.  “Imagine how devastated you would be if EACH AND EVERY HAIM SISTER unfollowed you. RIP.”

Others pointed out that celebrities are just like us in many ways and not above pettiness to make a point. That’s especially the case for Taylor Swift and her friends.

“People saying following doesn’t mean much but everyone unfollowing at the same time is pretty suspicious that something not so ‘amicable’ went down,” one person suggested. “Especially since her brother hasn’t posted anything in a year on his feed and went out of his way to unfollow Joe, who also hasn’t posted anything in a year.”

Of course, we have to put this into perspective a bit. If you broke up with your long-term partner but your friends kept following them on socials, it’d be a little weird. It’s not as if these stars were Alwyn’s friends first or friends they made as a couple after they started dating. They’ve always been Taylor Swift’s friends, which means they go with her after the breakup. They had no choice but to hit that unfollow button STAT.
