Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend has some sage advice for his new love interest, Taylor Swift, urging her to use her head rather than her heart when dealing with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Maya Benberry is a big fan of the “Cruel Summer” singer and doesn’t want her to get hurt, so she’s speaking out in Swift’s best interest.
- Maya Benberry got with Travis Kelce because of a TV show. Apparently, there was a show called “Catching Kelce” that was basically a rip-off of “The Bachelor” and encouraged 30 women to ingratiate themselves for a chance at becoming his girlfriend. They were only together for a few months, but rumors are that Kelce cheated (though a source told Page Six that they “weren’t even together long enough” for him to do so).
- Benberry issued her advice via the Daily Mail. Throwing shade her ex’s way, Benberry said: “Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart! I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her.”
- However, things got a bit shadier towards Taylor Swift on Instagram. People started flipping out when they realized that Maya Benberry had liked a comment that described Swift as “a 5.” After all, that’s pretty corny to start hating on your ex’s new girlfriend and it reeks of jealousy.
- Benberry insists she would never talk badly about Taylor. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she insisted: “I don’t hate Taylor nor am I bitter. I got asked about my relationship & spoke on it because I can. It’s my life & I can speak on it or about it whenever I please.” Also, she’s trying to secure the bag, you guys. Let a girl get her money!!
- For the record, Maya Benberry doesn’t think Taylor Swift is a 5. “The initial comment was someone complimenting me so I liked it without even paying attention just like I do every other comment on my page,” she offered by way of explanation. So… she likes things without realizing what she’s liking because she doesn’t pay attention? Yikes. She claimed that once she “caught wind that it was shade,” she deleted the whole thing.
- To be honest, it’s kinda silly that this is even getting so much press. I don’t think anyone believes that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the next big celebrity couple. They’re probably just dating and having fun for a little while until it runs its course and they both move on.
