Victoria Beckham Says She’d ‘Rather Die’ Than Wear Crocs Justin Bieber Sent Her

They didn’t call her “Posh Spice” back in her Spice Girls days for nothing. She’s always had highbrow tastes when it comes to style (at least in her own head) and has forged a career over the past two decades as somewhat of a fashionista as well as a clothing designer. And because she seems to prefer a very polished, understated look when it comes to what she wears, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Victoria Beckham says she’d “rather die” than pop on the Crocs sent to her by Justin Bieber.

In case you were unaware, Bieber has his own fashion line, Drew House, and sells a bunch of clothes with smiley faces and teddy bears on it that teens seem to love. The brand also recently did a collaboration with Crocs and released pairs in a couple of different shades, one of which was lilac. That’s the one the singer’s team sent over to Beckham, much to her chagrin.

When Beckham got the Crocs, she posted a poll to her Instagram Stories asking her followers whether or not she should wear them (as if it was ever an option). To be fair, 57% of people did say no (haters!), but I have a feeling she wouldn’t have worn them even if the yeses won out.

After the poll closed, Victoria Beckham breathed a sigh of relief that she’d never have to wear Justin Bieber’s Crocs. She wrote: “Will I be wearing lilac crocs?!” she wrote. “Well that was close! 🤔 I think I’d rather die but thank you anyway @justinbieber 😂”

Bit rude, don’t you think? She must have realized that after the fact and then posted another story insisting that “the Beckhams still love you, @justinbieber 😂💕”

Of course, Beckham may be a bit behind the curve here on this one. Crocs used to be hideous, unsightly shoes meant for people working long shifts in the emergency room or weeding in their gardens. These days, they’re a bona fide sartorial choice, with even big-time designers like Salehe Bembury and Balenciaga releasing their own versions. The Drew House Crocs are, of course, sold out, so Beckham was lucky to get a pair! Something tells me they’ll be hitting the donation pile.
