Victoria Beckham Slammed Over 12-Year-Old Daughter Harper’s ‘Inappropriate’ Dress

Victoria “I’d rather die than wear Crocs” Beckham has always been big on fashion, so it’s no surprise that her kids have followed suit. Her son Brooklyn, 24, is a full-time model, and her daughter Harper Seven, who just celebrated her 12th birthday, also has a keen eye for style. However, not everyone was impressed with the former Spice Girl over an outfit she recently allowed the tween to wear to an event at Harrods in London.

In photos posted on her Instagram, Victoria celebrated Harper Seven’s birthday with some photos of her with the family. In the pictures, Harper wears a long silk lilac gown with Nike x Off-White Dunks on her feet. While she looked perfectly adorable, many people claimed the dress was “inappropriate” for a girl of her age.

“She is a child in lingerie. It’s not right,” one critic claimed. Another said, “Can’t imagine letting a 12-year-old wear a slip dress. That is not age appropriate as everyone is saying.”

A third hater commented, “Why is your preteen dressed in bed wear? Weird.” Meanwhile, a fourth said that Harper Seven is “super cute, but her angel face doesn’t go well with that type of dress.”

Of course, the detractors were outnumbered by people who praised the Beckham family for their tight-knit bond and complimented Harper Seven’s fashion sense as well as wished her a happy birthday.

“Lovely to see a well-dressed no makeup young person. She’s a credit to you both,” one fan commented. Another said, “Oh my goodness. Watching her grow up to be this beautiful young girl has been fun. Nearly tall as you.”

Why can’t people just not say anything if they don’t have something nice to say? Isn’t that the most basic tenet of human decency? Harper Seven is a normal 12-year-old girl who was enjoying her birthday by dressing up to go to an event with her fashion-conscious mom. What’s the issue here?
