Hunger Games Actress Willow Shields Shares ‘Private’ Photo On Instagram After Blackmail Attempt Instagram/Willow Shield | Netflix

“Hunger Games” actress Willow Shields posted a nude photo on her Instagram page after someone attempted to blackmail her over her intimate images. The actress, 22, said that the unnamed person had somehow gotten access to the pics and threatened to share them online without her consent. Instead, she took matters into her own hands and shared the photo herself before turning the culprit into the FBI.

Shields posted a lengthy caption with the photo, which showed her naked and taking a mirror selfie from the side. “I’m being blackmailed and extorted for nude photos of myself, something private that was never meant to be shared with the whole world,” she wrote.”I’m taking back the control and sharing it with you first. Here’s the photo they emailed and attached threatening to share with my friends, family, and the internet.”

She continued: “They claim to have many more ‘less tame’ photos to use against me. I will not let someone else make choices involving my own body, I will not allow someone to have power over me.”

While Willow Shields has no idea what (if anything) will happen to the person who attempted to blackmail her over her nudes, she said that she “sincerely hopes they take the investigation seriously and follow through with this crime.”

The star revealed that she also decided to share the image as she knows many other women have gone through the same thing before. “I also share this because I know how many other people are affected daily by revenge porn, and nude leaks, that are carried out by hackers and criminals in an effort to break down body, and mind, both deeply vulnerable. I understand and I’m sorry it exists,” she added. “I will not stand for any slut shaming, this is my body, and I will share it with whomever I choose.”
