A 35-year-old Russian influencer has married her 20-year-old stepson after divorcing his father. Marina Balmasheva first met Vladimir ‘Voya’ Shavyrin, the son of her ex-husband Alexy, when he was 7 years old. Now, 13 years later, they’ve tied the knot and are now husband and wife themselves.
- They announced plans to marry earlier this year. Marina Balmasheva has more than 435,000 followers on Instagram, all of whom had mixed responses to the news that she and Voya were planning to marry. While many didn’t understand their connection, others were incredibly supportive and happy that Marina had found love.
- They married at a local registry office last week. Marina shared the photo of herself and Voya on Instagram with the caption, “We drove to the registry office, I didn’t even have a hairbrush with me. The rings were in the car. There was a good mood and a little embarrassment.” She added, “After the registry office, we dressed in typical wedding attire and enjoyed a nice reception at a local restaurant with several guests.”
- The couple no longer talk to Marina’s ex-husband/Voya’s father. As you can imagine, Alexey is none too pleased with the fact that his son has shacked up with his ex-wife. “I think he does not like what we have done,” she said. No surprises there!
- Now, Marina and Voya are expecting a baby together. They posted a photo of Marina holding a pregnancy test back on June 7 and by July 11, she confirmed that they’re expecting a baby boy later this year. Congrats to them.
- Marina and Alexey had previously adopted four children. The youngest of those children had Down syndrome. However, ever since Marina and Alexey got a divorce, the four adopted children have remained with Alexey, according to local news. Admittedly, it is a bit crappy that she left her other children behind to have one with her former stepson, but this whole thing is bizarre.
