16 Goals For Single Women For Today & Every Day

We’re officially at the end of 2022, which means you’re probably trying to figure out what your resolution will be for next year. If you’re single, you should feel free to be selfish with your resolutions to make sure next year is fun and full of growth. Not sure where you should start? Here are some goals for single women to adopt in the coming year and beyond.

  1. Don’t accept anything less than you deserve. Ideally, we would already know and practice this, but sometimes just not wanting to be alone makes us feel like we should accept anything. In 2023 and beyond, don’t accept bad behavior from anyone.
  2. Make sure to have fun. Instead of enjoying the freedom of being single, we can get bogged down by it. We choose to be miserable rather than have fun. This year, make sure to ditch the negativity and live it up!
  3. Avoid all of the thirsty moves. Not only is being thirsty unattractive, but it can be very creepy and is definitely a waste of time. Quit with the desperate calls for attention like sending random nude pictures and online stalking. Less is usually more.
  4. Do new things to learn more about yourself. Being single gives you time to learn more about yourself, which can lead to better relationships in the future. Take some classes, travel, or do anything new to find out more of what you like and what you don’t.
  5. Find more ways to be independent. Even if you’re in a relationship, you should work on being independent (or maintaining the independence you’ve already got). If your cooking skills are limited, then work on them; if you’re always lost on basic car maintenance, then find someone to teach you. There’s no better time to fall for someone than when you’re not looking and don’t really need anyone else.
  6. Embrace being the third wheel more often. One of the biggest complaints of being single is becoming a third wheel with your couple friends. Instead of staying home, go out more. You could be stopping yourself from having fun because of your insecurities. Plus, you never know who you’ll meet while you’re out!
  7. Break away from your “type” at least once. If you’re someone who obviously has a type but it’s not working for you, then force yourself to go outside your comfort zone. Maybe you’ve been overlooking the right one without even knowing it because you’re stuck to certain standards.
  8. Ditch the jealousy. Everyone gets jealous, but some people ruin even being single by being jealous of couples all the time. Stop making snide comments or making yourself depressed thinking about what you don’t have. Be happy for others and be happy for all of the things you do have.
  9. Make the most out of your time with friends. We often take our friends for granted, so avoid doing that next year. Make plans to do all of the things you’ve been meaning to do, like go on a vacation together, and show your appreciation for them in smaller ways on a daily basis.
  10. Work on mending your broken heart if you have one. After a tough breakup, we might be tempted to run away from our problems by hooking up with new people or jumping into a new relationship. Instead, take some time by yourself and reflect. What exactly went wrong in the relationship? What have you learned? After determining that, you can start building yourself back up.
  11. Focus on having safe and good sex when you want it. In a perfect world, we’d all have safe sex every time, but we sometimes slack. Focus on being good about protection, and also make it a goal to have good sex. Work on communicating with your partner and learning about your body to find out how to get an orgasm.
  12. Be more outspoken about what you want. Many women are taught to keep their opinions to themselves to avoid coming across as bossy. But no one can read your mind, and you’re more likely to get what you want after you say something. Practice speaking your mind more often in all aspects of your life.
  13. Don’t let the idiots get you down. We know that people say stupid things to single women and assume they must be miserable if they’re on their own. Shake them all off next year and make sure no one’s words can ruin your year.
  14. Breaking things off the right way for good dating karma. People can be pretty terrible at ending things by resorting to ghosting. Break the cycle by being more upfront when dumping someone, and hopefully, someone will come back and show you the same amount of decency.
  15. Set aside time for self-care. If you lead a busy life, then you might accidentally let self-care slip by you. Take time out for yourself every week doing what you love in order to take care of yourself physically and mentally. Don’t let next year be filled with anxiety and stress.
  16. Develop and repeat daily mantras. Another part of your self-care can be saying positive things to yourself every day in order to boost your self-esteem. Repeating self-love affirmations may seem cheesy or embarrassing, but it can have an incredible effect on your overall well-being.
