Kylie Jenner Loses Nearly A Million Followers After ‘Mocking’ Selena Gomez

Last week, Kylie Jenner was dethroned as the most followed woman on Instagram by Selena Gomez. However, to add insult to injury, Jenner has actually lost nearly a million followers after an incident in which she and Hailey Bieber were accused of “mocking” Gomez.

It all started when Gomez admitted on the social media network that she accidentally laminated her eyebrows too much. Shortly after that, Kylie hit up her Instagram Stories to show her face with the caption “Was this an accident???” Next, a screenshot of her eyebrows and Hailey Bieber’s on FaceTime was posted.

That’s a little more than coincidental, and fans noticed. Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber were immediately dubbed the mean girls of social media for having a go at Selena Gomez for no reason. However, Kylie denied the rumors, saying, “This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”

Regardless, many of Gomez’s fans are standing behind her and insist that Jenner’s behavior isn’t okay. They’re taking action by unfollowing Jenner. She’s lost more than 750,000 followers since February 22, so it’s clear people aren’t putting up with it.

Of course, Kylie Jenner still has 379 million followers so she’s not hurting too bad, but given that Selena Gomez has shot up to 389 followers, it seems the tide is turning. There’s no excuse for bullying people. And while Jenner and Bieber’s comments may have been totally innocuous and not related to Gomez, many fans aren’t so sure. (Plus, given Bieber’s propensity for being shady about her fellow female celebs, it’s even harder to imagine this being innocent.)
