A devastated mother of three adult children has revealed that her kids are trying to sue her so that they can get their hands on her inheritance while she’s still alive. Writing into the Daily Mail for advice, she revealed that she wanted to sell her home and downgrade to something smaller, using the leftover money for future medical expenses as she gets older. However, her children threw a “disgusting tantrum” and have been standing in the way ever since.

First, the children tried to manipulate her.

According to the woman, when her kids found out she planned to sell the house, they accused her of trying to “destroy their childhood memories and the final memories of their father by selling the family home.”

They then “demanded” that she sign over the house to them instead so that they can rent it out for her and give her the money to live off. Hmm, I’m not surprised this isn’t something she wanted to do…

The woman stayed true to her initial plan.

She went on to say that she ignored her children’s demand for the house, but they still wouldn’t accept it. Instead, they hired a lawyer to “legally stop” her from selling the house.

“They claim it’s their inheritance and that I’m trying to keep the money away from them,” she wrote.

“The last thing I wanted at this point in my life was to get involved in some horrendous family feud. I’m absolutely disgusted by their behavior and can’t get over how selfish they’re being.”

The kids’ dad, the woman’s late husband, would be “furious.”

What’s even more upsetting is that while the adult children claim they’re doing this for the sake of their late dad, in fact, he would not approve of their behavior.

However, things have gotten so bad that the woman is considering giving into their demands so that she can “live in peace without the threat of a lawsuit” from her own kids.

There was a third option available.

Jane Green, the Daily Mail writer who regularly gives advice to readers in her column, thought of something that might leave everyone feeling better about things.

She suggested that the woman should offer to sell the house to the kids, or help them out by “financing” their purchase of the house “in return for a monthly stipend enabling you to live.”

But while that might settle the property dispute, it does nothing for the trauma the kids put their elderly mother through.
