Amy Schumer has been facing a lot of backlash lately due to her blatantly anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic social media posts. The stand-up, who was raised Jewish and has herself been the victim of antisemitism, later deleted some of her more controversial posts from Instagram but has since been forced to clarify where she stands on the conflict. And to further the validity of her point, she’s proclaimed herself to be the most successful female comedian of all time.
Amy Schumer had a few things to get off her chest.
In an Instagram post from November 2, she stated that she would be leaving the comments on her posts as she wasn’t afraid of what anyone had to say to her.
“Couple things. What I want is EVERY HOSTAGE BACK. I want safety and freedom from Hamas for Palestinians and Israelis,” she wrote. “I want safety for Jewish people and Muslims as well. Everyone. Just like you. I want peace.”
She continued: “You will never see me wishing harm on anyone. Saying I’m Islamophobic or that I like genocide is crazy. So here you go by popular demand. Comments on. Please keep the below in mind.”
“When you say I’m rich please add in ‘SELF MADE’ – I come from being dirt poor. Senator Chuck Schumer is my dad’s 2nd cousin once removed. I didn’t meet him until I was 25.”
She also set the record straight on a few other things.
Addressing other accusations that have gone around about her over the years, Schumer continued, “I’ve never give any money to support a cause other than tampons. I’ve never stolen a joke.”
“People calling me a failed comic. I’m the most successful female comedian of all time. I’m ugly/fat okay, sorry you aren’t attracted to me. I found someone who is. I hope you will find someone too.”
She ended by saying that while the world is experiencing “a lot of pain,” it’s made even worse by the fact that human beings love one another.

Is Amy Schumer the most successful comedian of all time? Not according to the numbers.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Schumer is worth an impressive $45 million, so she’s certainly very accomplished.
However, Ellen DeGeneres is worth an estimated $500 million, which outdoes Schumer by a fair margin.
There’s also the fact that there are plenty of other incredibly successful female comedians who have parlayed a stand-up career into TV shows, movie appearances, and more. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Leslie Jones, and many others immediately come to mind…
Of course, that one line wasn’t the point of Schumer’s post, but the fact that she felt the need to mention that when the big controversy now is the careless and derogatory comments she’s made against Muslims and Palestinians shows where her head is at.
