This Cat Was Put In Solitary Confinement For Repeatedly Letting The Other Shelter Animals Out

Quilty the cat is a total G. While waiting to find his forever home at the Friends For Life Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas, he got up to some serious trouble and had to be put in solitary confinement. His crime? Letting all the other shelter animals out of their cages. Naughty Quilty!

  1. Quilty has been opening doors for awhile now. The 6-year-old shorthair apparently used to let his dog friend out of his cage when he lived with a previous owner and he continued the tradition while at Friends For Life.
  2. He had to be put in solitary confinement. The naughty cat’s antics caused a bit of upheaval around the shelter, so they had to put Quilty in solitary since he is clearly a dangerous criminal. However, he soon got out of there, as well, and had to be put back in the room. “Quilty’s review with the parole board was denied, so he released himself of his own recognizance,” they wrote on their Facebook page. “He felt that confinement had nothing more to offer him. He has been returned to solitary. Quilty will not be contained. And he has no shame. His roommates missed him while he was banished to the lobby. They enjoyed their nighttime escapades around the shelter.” Hilarious!
  3. At least he loves dogs! While cats and dogs aren’t necessarily known for getting along well, it’s clear that Quilty is 100% fine with canines. After sharing his antics on their Facebook page, Friends For Life implored anyone who might want a cat that hates doors but loves dogs to come and see Quilty. “If someone out there is looking for a clever cat that gets along with dogs but does not get along with closed doors, we have someone they really need to come and meet,” they wrote.
  4. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before Quilty found a home. After seeing his hilarious personality on his Instagram page, interest from people who wanted to adopt Quilty came pouring in and he eventually found a home with a woman who has a few dogs and lots of love to give. He hasn’t opened any doors yet, but he is getting lots of snuggles, and that’s all you can ever really hope for. No more solitary confinement for this cat!
