‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ Brothers Recreate Viral Video 13 Years Later

Without a doubt, “Charlie Bit My Finger” is one of the first and most memorable viral videos ever to hit the internet. In the clip, brothers Harry, then 3, and Charlie, then 1, sat unsuspectingly on the couch. Harry put his finger in front of Charlie’s mouth and Charlie chomped down before erupting in fits of giggles while Harry proclaimed, “Ouch, Charlie! He bit my finger!” Now, 13 years later, the boys have recreated the classic clip for Lad Bible.

  1. I’m pretty sure anyone with internet access has seen this video. It was as if “Charlie Bit My Finger” was everywhere, even nearly a decade after the video was first uploaded. As of 2020, it has more than 875 million views, which tells you just how popular it is. It has become a classic, going down in history in the annals of the internet, and it still makes me laugh even after all this time.
  2. “Charlie Bit My Fingers” changed the lives of the brothers and their family. As the boys’ mom, Shelley Davies-Carr, told The Times, “The video got on to a college networking site in the US and from there it went viral. I think the British accents have helped make it so globally viewed.” They apparently made tens of thousands of dollars from advertising on the video and used the money to buy a new house.
  3. The brothers’ dad took a very practical approach to his sons’ fame. Sure, “Charlie Bit My Finger” was great and all, but Howard Davies-Carr wanted his sons to have more to them than simple viral internet fame. “There are an awful lot of unscrupulous people out there who will try and take advantage of people that don’t understand what they have,” he told ABC News in 2012. “When the boys get to 18, I’d like them to think back and think, ‘O.K., I’ve got something in my life which is more than just what I was when I did the ‘Charlie Bit Me’ video.”
  4. Charlie has since started his own social channels. He’s on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch, where he plays video games for his followers. If you’re a teen who loves gaming or know one, you might want to check Charlie out. That is, after you re-watch the infamous “Charlie Bit My Finger” video again, of course. His brother Harry doesn’t seem to have any public channels.
