Have You Finally Met Your Ride Or Die Guy? 11 Signs He’s The Real Deal

When you’re in a relationship, you want to know you can rely on your partner. Does he offer you unconditional support? Will he be with you no matter what? If so, he’s your ride or die. Here are 11 signs that confirm it.

  1. He’s your biggest cheerleader. When you experience joy or victory, he’s just as happy as you are. There’s no weird competitive vibes or jealous energy because your wins are his wins. This guy is all about being a team player and he knows that’s what’s best for your relationship. He knows he gets the same for you in return.
  2. He’s the first guy you call. When you’re stuck on the side of the road, he’s the first person you call. When you’re stressed out, ditto. You know you can depend on him, sure, but more than that, he’s also the person you can trust no matter what. He’s not going to tell you to suck it up when you’re sad or say you should have known better than to drive with a warning light flashing in your car. He’ll be there with flowers and your favorite chocolate mousse.
  3. He can read you without you having to say a word. The best boyfriend is one who can read your face like it’s a book. He can tell if you’ve been crying, are stressed out, or have to tell him something good. Before you can even text or tell him, he’ll ask you what’s up. He knows you inside and out, and this shows that he’s really paying attention to you on a deep level. He’s a keeper.
  4. He makes an effort with your friends. It’s not always easy for a guy to meet and love his girlfriend’s friends, especially if they’re drama queens or really difficult. Still, this guy is all about making them feel good in his company. He’s charming without being sleazy and can joke with them to put them at ease. He might even become their best friend too.
  5. He gets on better with your family than you do. When he meets your family, he gets on with them immediately. It’s like he’s their long-lost son. Honestly, sometimes it feels weird that he understands your father better than you do and gets on better with your sister than you. It’s awesome to see because it’s a great sign he’s part of the family and making an effort with your loved ones.
  6. He puts your happiness first. Know the saying “happy wife, happy life?” This guy is all about that. He’s not afraid to make your happiness a priority. If he wants to go watch a sports game but you had your heart set on going to the opera, he’ll change his plans around so that you two can be together. He’s more interested in being in your company than doing something he loves without you there.
  7. He makes you feel comfortable. You can totally be yourself around him. You don’t have to feel weird if he sees you in your PJs, and you certainly don’t need a filter or censor when you’re going through something embarrassing or painful. He gets to see the full, unabridged version of who you are and it feels fantastic to know that he’s after the real you. He doesn’t want you to put on a front around him. He’s your ride or die, not some fly-by-night guy.
  8. You can leave him with your phone or handbag. He’s not going to sift through your wallet or check your emails when you leave the room. You can totally trust him to respect your boundaries and personal space, as well as to trust you. He’s not waiting for the other shoe to drop with you. He knows you’re a catch.
  9. He can read and understand your emoji texts. You know that sometimes trying to understand a person’s emoji texts can be really difficult. What is that clenched-smiling emoji supposed to mean? And the peach? Ugh, it’s frustrating. This guy totally gets what you mean when you communicate with emojis. It’s because you know each other so well that you can understand each other.
  10. He’s your bestie. He’s your boyfriend, sure, but he’s also your best friend. He can laugh with you, joke around, tease you, and just have fun as though you were childhood friends or even siblings at times. Having a solid friendship is an awesome foundation for a romantic relationship and it means that you’re there for each other on many different levels. Relationship goals!
  11. He knows your cycle. It might sound creepy that he knows your menstrual cycle like the back of his hand, but it’s meant in a good way. He knows when you’re going to be moody and in pain, so he can be at your side and help you out. Honestly, it’s sweet that he remembers your cycle and that he’s not weirded out by it (come on, your period is a natural bodily process). It’s also comforting that he cares so much to be man enough to run to the pharmacy to buy you hygiene products.
