People with this syndrome are literally terrified of falling in love, and will build up emotional walls to keep people away from them. People with Love Avoidance hate feeling vulnerable and equate love to hard work without reward. Getting into a relationship with a Love Avoidant person means that you’ll likely see that dashing hero turn into a cold, unavailable stranger within a matter of months. In other words, Love Avoidance is incompatible with a healthy relationship. Oddly enough, Love Avoidants are fine with sex and fine with short-term flings.
